Armored cable usually includes the following main parts from the inside to the outside:
Conductor: the core part that conducts current.
Insulation layer: isolates the conductor from the outside world to ensure electrical performance.
Shielding layer: reduces electromagnetic interference and provides a smooth transition between the conductor and the insulation layer.
Armor layer: protects the internal structure from mechanical damage.
Outer sheath: prevents the armor layer from being corroded and provides additional physical protection.
Minimum bending radius
The minimum bending radius of the cable should be at least:
Three-core oil-immersed insulated cable: 15 times.
Single-core oil-immersed insulated cable: 25 times.
Rubber and plastic insulated cable: 10 times.
Voltage level classification
According to the voltage level classification, cables can be divided into:
Low voltage cable: 35kV and below.
Medium voltage cable: above 35kV to 69kV.
High voltage cable: 110kV to 220kV.
Ultra-high voltage cable: greater than 220kV.
Functions of shielding layer and grounding wire
Shielding layer: Improves electric field distribution and reduces interference.
Grounding wire: Ensures safe grounding and avoids danger when the cable fails.
Function of outer sheath
The outer sheath of the cable consists of an inner lining layer, an armor layer and an outer sheath. Its main function is to provide mechanical protection and prevent erosion.
Difference between armored cable and non-armored cable
Armored cable: has additional mechanical protection, suitable for environments susceptible to mechanical damage.
Non-armored cable: has no additional mechanical protection layer, suitable for environments that are not easily damaged, such as indoors.
The role of armored cable
Provides additional mechanical protection to prevent rodents from biting and ensures safe grounding in the event of cable failure.

Power cables: VV22, VV32, etc.
Control cables: KVV22, KVV32, etc.
