Project Background
A coastal area plans to build offshore wind farms on a large scale to meet the growing demand for clean energy. However, the harsh offshore environment, high salt spray, strong winds and other factors have placed extremely high demands on the performance of cables.
Project Requirements
Super corrosion resistance: Submarine cables need to be immersed in seawater for a long time, so they must have strong seawater corrosion resistance to extend their service life.
High tensile strength: Submarine cables need to withstand the huge pressure of seawater and the impact of ocean currents to ensure that the cables remain stable in the submarine environment.
Excellent flexibility: Submarine cables need to adapt to the complex terrain of the seabed and have good bending properties to facilitate installation and laying.

Cable structure optimization:
Conductor: High-purity annealed copper stranded wire is used, which has the characteristics of low resistance and low loss, and improves the efficiency of power transmission.
Insulation layer: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) is used as the insulation material, which has excellent electrical properties and heat resistance.
Shielding layer: It is woven with copper tape or copper wire to effectively shield external electromagnetic interference and improve the quality of signal transmission.
Sheath layer: Polymer composite materials (such as TPU) are used as sheath materials, and antioxidants and anti-ultraviolet additives are added. It has strong seawater corrosion resistance, weather resistance and anti-aging performance.
